GOOD SHEPHERD SERVICES: $12,500,000 in new assets.
Good Shepherd Services provides a continuum of care to more than 10,000 at-risk children and families throughout New York City. TWG designed an innovative facility financing strategy to utilize un-leveraged resources, and helped secure $12.5 million in new assets through a combination of tax-exempt bond financing and a capital campaign. These resources were used to underwrite the construction of a major new multi-service center in Red Hook, Brooklyn, as well as renovate two existing buildings, and expand the organization’s endowed resources.

NORTON MUSEUM OF ART: $100,000,000 in new assets
The Norton Museum of Art is today considered one of the leading arts and culture institution in the Southern United States. Over the past 10 years, TWG planned and implemented two major Capital Campaigns totaling $65 million, and developed a capacity building strategy to strengthen the museums fundraising including enhancements to programs and staffing, and installation of a Planned Giving Program. Through our work, the Norton has raised over $100 million in philanthropic support to date, which includes: operating support, planned gifts, capital gifts, gifts of art, and corporate sponsorships. TWG is now working with the Norton to prepare for a visionary campaign designed to strengthen endowment and dramatically expand current support.

ST. ALOYISUS: $20,000,000 in new assets
St. Aloysius is an innovative elementary and middle school for disadvantaged children located in Upper Manhattan. TWG has worked with St. Al’s for over seven years, designing and installing the fundraising structure. Prior to our working with the school there was no formalized fundraising department. TWG literally created the Development Office, and provided technical assistance with staffing, programs, and technology. Today, this is a totally self-sustaining fundraising program that yields $2.0 million annually. TWG also designed and implemented two Capital fundraising efforts totaling $5.5 million to create a new wing for more expansive programming, and complete renovation and expansion to their main school building.

Hope Community, Inc.: Strengthened the Organization’s Voluntary Leadership
Hope Community, Inc. is a community development corporation that builds and manages affordable housing and provides an array of support service to families in East Harlem. TWG facilitated Hope’s strategic planning process, and designed a major fundraising effort to support Hope’s strategic initiatives. As part of our work, TWG designed and recruited a Corporate Advisory Board made up of executives from leading commercial and investment banks, other types of lending institutions, and real estate developers. TWG used this dynamic public/private partnership to help Hope create a series of innovative financing techniques for affordable housing development.
