Based in Seattle, EMP Museum is the world’s first museum devoted to the exploration of creativity and innovation in music and popular culture. Working with the founders as well as the board, CEO, and staff, TWG developed a business plan and strategy for EMP’s growth. The plan reimagined EMP’s role as a valued community resource and conceived a new funding model designed to make the museum more financially self-sufficient and assure its long–term sustainability. The plan recommended the expansion of the board, the creation of a full-service fundraising and constituent relations program, an imaginative approach to generating enterprise income, and a bold communications strategy that called for rebranding and simplifying the museum’s institutional/graphic image. TWG then designed and helped launch the new fundraising program for the museum.
